Oookay. I'm going to try to make ljmigrate work for me. It's a Mac tool for migrating LJ posts elsewhere, and can be found here: http://antennapedia.livejournal.com/266462.html
Now, it's been at least 4 years (!) since I even had a peek at the Terminal window, and I never got to know Darwin much at all! Despite my then bf, James, being a total nut about it. Could have been because he never allowed me to use my own computer; he used it all the time. Anyway, I did look into Linux, back then... not that I got very far before giving up and deleting Yellow Dog from my laptop (after bf and I broke up), and Unix and Linux are rather similar in many ways...
So... I guess this will be loads of fun. Not. Gods! I just want to fucking point and click!!! LOL
ETA: All right! Good news is that migrating the posts worked. Bad news is that I got an error when the script tried to fetch the comments. Blah. I'll keep an eye on that post mentioned above and see if someone else has the same problem and/or if there's a new version soon. |

| Subject: LJ keeps up the witchhunt |
Dear gods! I just heard that Ponderosa got her journal suspended by LJ because of some of her art looks channish! :-( *sends big hugs to Pond* This is crazy!
Well, I think it's rather clear that 6A does not want fandom's best on LJ. But the crap is staying... where people label rape as romance or whatevs. Because that's not scaring investors away. I think I'll just save the lovely feedback I have received on places like pornish pixies and delete the posts I've made there. Because I have a feeling they are looking through every member there... I'll keep moving my stories off-site as well. I hope at least that 6A can't suspend me for linking to material not on their servers.
And now I want to gorge myself on ponderosa121 art! Just because! |

It's a good thing I can do my laundry at work, or it would never get done.
Last night I had a dream most likely inspired by the recent happenings on LJ and in fandom (book release, con problems, chan/incest discussions with demands on showing my credentials for being allowed to write it, SixApart suspending pr0n, SixApart doing more inane things, etc.). I dreamt about a train wreck. Symbolic, no?
I was in a train car with a few fandom friends, of which I can now only remember V, travelling somewhere (obviously) and the train derailed. We were somewhere in the middle of the train, and the parts before our car were all somehow ending up off the tracks in a big wreck, and the connection between our train car and the one in front was broken, so we stayed on the tracks and continued forward, unharmed. There were some huge steel/iron beams that had been placed on the tracks and had caused the accident.. but our train car simply pushed them in front of it, and it was simply slowed to a halt while we passed the rest of the train...
Hmmm... I will take that as a good sign. That I and my friends will survive the train wreck just fine. :-) |

I need a serious break from LJ. If it's not one thing, then it's another, and after that is resolved comes a third. And a fourth. I'm just so tired and stressed, and so very burned out on fandom and HP.
It's a combination of many factors, not least the closing of canon and the tension leading up to it, and the Sectus that didn't happen for me and my friends. Just a long string of blah for the last year or so... or rather, from the release of HBP in my case. That book killed so much of my love for the HP universe and characters. *sigh*
I hope I'll find my writing mojo again. lysa1 and I have stories to write. :-) |

Title: Summer Holidays at Malfoy Manor Author: ldybastet Pairing: Lucius/Draco Rating: NC-17 Adult content, Wild Summary: Draco is home for the summer holidays, and hopes to learn something new. Warning: See pairing. Adult/minor. Disclaimer: The whole Harry Potter universe and characters belongs to JK Rowling. I'm just playing with it in ways she'd never approve of and not making any profit. I just realised that I should probably backup the most important of all my posts on LJ, namely my bookmarks. I put them all, or rather the ones I could salvage, in an LJ post a while ago after the last time that Firefox decided to lose parts of my bookmarks. It always seemed to lose the slash and shota folders too. Very annoying. Oh, apart from that one time when it lost all my bookmarks, not a single one of them left.
So... I think that would be the post I'd mourn the most if LJ suddenly shut me down. But now I have it here too! :-)
I just hope also that this dating out of order thing works so I can have it on the top of my LJ (it's a private post, so no one else can see it). I like being able to access my bookmarks no matter where I am or on whose computer. *g* |

| Subject: re-iconing! |
Urgh. I have re-uploaded all the userpics that GJ had lost for me... And because I am anal like that and want to be able to find them quicker the next time I have to re-upload them, I made a spread-sheet thingie with keywords, comments, and the name of the files on my harddrive. *cough*
Now I need to go rest. I'm all dizzy from copy&paste in fast pace and switching between three windows over and over. But the icons are back! Except for a few that I couldn't find on my harddrive. Woe. |

Since trolls have started to show up with spoilers, I just wanted to say that I will not post any spoilers in my journal. I don't mind being spoiled myself, because I don't much look forward to the book, but I recognise and respect other people's wish to stay spoiler-free.

I am ded tired after all of this. From the moment the rumour went flying I have been stressed and trying my best to protect my fic and myself and my communities... and it feels rather weird in a way to know now that I didn't have to. But! If fandom hadn't stood up together and demanded answers, I'm sure they wouldn't have folded and backtracked and apologised and unsuspended journals.
I have reopened hp_incest on LJ, with new rules and moderated membership. My right hand and wrist is aching from all the mouseclicking the last week. And now I'm checking ppl's age statements and approving them for membership, and also unlocking all my incest and underage fics. Bloody hell, do I write anything else? *headdesk*
Last night was the first night in a week that I actually slept peacefully. Gods, it felt good.
I never really truly believed the debunking of that rumour. Wonder why? It just felt more true than the LOLZ that were reported from someone who knew someone in Abuse... Meh.
And I still haven't had time to fic the layout here, upload the icons THAT HAVE GONE MISSING AGAIN! GRRR! ... or write my opinion of PotC3. |

| Subject: Drabble: Natural lusts [L/S implied, Abraxas/Orion; R] |
Title: Natural lusts Characters: Lucius/Severus implied, Abraxas and Orion Rating: R Notes: 100 words. This is what my brain came up with when I took a nap. I am innocent. Written for blond_azkaban, challenge #1: spring.
Natural lusts
From his vantage point behind the French windows, Abraxas watched his son play with his young friend. Play it was, even though they were teens, because he knew where they would end up: in bed, or on grass now that it was warmer. A half-blood Prince, a boy; filthy and unnatural it was!
Perhaps it was because of spring that Lucius had lost his head, his sense? Abraxas could feel the heat build up, the sap rising, and then he emptied himself into the mouth that engulfed him - Orion Black, the best cock-sucker in their social circle, and pure-blood! |

| Subject: Drabble: As the Chill Left the Earth [Lucius/Severus; PG] |
Title: As the Chill Left the Earth Characters: Lucius/Severus Rating: PG Notes: 100 words. Written for blond_azkaban, challenge #1: spring.
As the Chill Left the Earth
As the chill left the earth, warmth came into his heart again. As the fragile green leaves appeared, need began growing inside him. As the delicate flowers turned their faces towards the sun, Lucius felt an undeniable urge to seek out company for his own benefit, not for schemes or power or coercion. As the sun woke the land, he felt life return.
A meeting, arranged; the black robes of his friend unchanged by the efforts of Spring. Where the sun failed to warm Severus Snape, Lucius succeeded, and for him Severus shed his garments, unable to resist his glow. |

| Subject: Drabble: Demons [Severus, Remus; PG] |
Title: Demons Characters: Severus, Remus Rating: PG Tame Notes: 100 words
Demons
Severus was possessed by demons. He could keep them at bay during the day, by use of draughts and clever potions. But they lay in ambush, waiting for his vigilance to falter, his defences to grow thin and worn down. In his sleep the demons grabbed him; they clawed and they ripped. With slavering mouths full of sharp teeth, they bit into his soul, tearing him apart.
And in the morning, at breakfast, Severus could not avoid the man who had set them upon him once, so many years ago: Professor Remus Lupin.
'Good morning, Severus. Did you sleep well?' |
